Stardock - Graphics Engineer

About our Client

Founded in 1991, and incorporated in 1993, Stardock is best known for programs that allow the user to modify or enhance specific user interface functions. They’re also well known for developing games such as Galactic Civilizations, Sins of a Solar Empire, Fallen Enchantress, and more. In more recent years, Stardock has gone to publish multiple games from 3rd party studios.

The Challenge

The Graphics Engineer at Stardock would be tasked with pushing their newest RTS titles to new heights. This was a position that required knowledge of C++, multi-threading, optimization, networking, and graphics to constantly push what they can do with DirectX12 and Vulkan. The candidate needed to be someone that was comfortable working with designers and artists, as well as troubleshoot any issues that arose while doing so. They would also need experience optimizing graphics to run on a variety of console and PC specifications. Stardock was actively trying to fill this role for two years; Nxt Level filled the position in two months.

The Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with C++

  • Familiarity with 3D math, including quaternions and matrix math

  • Shipped at least one commercial game

  • Experience with all core areas of graphics development
